Sistema para la Enseñanza de los Componentes Esenciales de la Lectura™
Sistema para la Enseñanza de los Componentes Esenciales de la Lectura (SECEL) is a multi-tiered program (Tier 1 and Tier 2) featuring a series of teaching routines designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Spanish reading instruction in kindergarten, first, and second grade.
SECEL is based on the program Enhanced Core Reading Instruction.
- SECEL includes the Enhanced Core Reading Instruction professional development books translated and adapted into Spanish. SECEL includes teaching routines relevant to reading in Spanish.
- Enhancements are available for the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Spanish literacy core reading program, Senderos, in kindergarten, first and second grade.
- Tier 2 small-group intervention materials correspond to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Senderos core reading enhancements. To improve at-risk students’ success and engagement, these Tier 2 materials are designed to preteach the skills taught during core Spanish reading instruction.
