Why attend?
This training will directly support school and district literacy instruction, early identification, and equitable intervention practices.
- Improves Early Literacy Outcomes: DIBELS 8 is one of the most widely validated early literacy screening tools. Proper training ensures teachers administer measures consistently and interpret results accurately.
- Bolsters Multi-tiered Systems of Support: Formal training helps strengthen Tier I instruction and streamline Tier II/Tier III Intervention, leading to measurable gains in reading achievement.
- Ensures Fidelity and Reduces Misidentification: Without formal training, staff often apply scoring or progress monitoring procedures inconsistently. Investing in training reduces errors, prevents over- or under-identifying students for intervention, and ensures data-driven decisions are grounded in fidelity.
- Builds Capacity: Those who complete this training will be offered the opportunity to receive an additional day of Data- Based Decision Making information, as well as instruction on how to be a Certified DIBELS 8th Edition Administration Trainer.
- Reduces Lost Instructional Time and Inconsistency: Well-trained staff make faster, more accurate instructional decisions, ultimately saving resources and improving student outcomes.
- High Return on Investment: Compared to the cost of additional assessments or intervention programs, DIBELS training is a low-cost, high-impact professional development investment. It strengthens the tools you already use and improves the quality of implementation school-wide.
